As seen on Mashable

Here at Mashwork we have been hearing constant buzz around Netflix’s release of the entire season of House of Cards on February 1st, 2013.  We wanted to fully understand what this “all in one” release meant for conversation over time and how the buzz generated by this show compared to other top TV shows.

We looked at House of Cards, and six other major network TV programs across Twitter to figure out what this strategic move by Netflix really meant for other regularly scheduled TV programs.

#InternationalWomensDay

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

Waking up to several emails with articles about women and an even longer stream of tweets with the hashtag #internationalwomensday, I felt it most appropriate to take this opportunity to blog about women, both well-behaved and not so well-behaved who have made history.

From the pill to the right to vote to Kathryn Bigelow’s win as the first woman to win the Best Director Oscar for 2010’s The Hurt Locker, woman have been making incredible strides since 1911.

18 female presidents and prime ministers currently hold leading positions in office.  Adele is currently the top selling artist on Billboard’s  charts.  Taylor Swift’s 2010 “Speak Now” Swift made her the only female artist to have that many songs on the Hot 100 at once in the company of only the Beatles and David Cook after winning American Idol.  15 FORTUNE 500 companies are run by women, and a total of 28 FORTUNE 1000 companies have women in the top job.

Madeleine Albright, Ellen DeGenerees, J.K. Rowling, Mary MacKilop, Jessica Watson. Take a moment to find out what these women and many more have achieved over these past 100 years and let them inspire you for the next 100.

“The notion we can do whatever the hell we want is only possible because of the women who courageously marched, shouted, protested, pioneered, laughed, loved before us.” – Global Banking Alliance

Check out this article from Global Banking Alliance for Women which inspired my post today: “Celebrating 100 Years of International Women’s Day”
